No Embellishments!

I participated in Virtual Scrapbook Night on SCS the other afternoon. This challenge was to make a page using paper, ink and stamps-no embellishments! This was a tough one because I love embellishments. I used my punches to create the flowers from patterned paper and stamped a stamp from my Priceless set along the top. I did alot of layering and used pop dots as well. Then I doodled around the photos with my white gel pen and around the page with my SU marker. I used my SU corner punch and placed them on each corner of the page and on the photos as well. I am acually very happy with this page and I am glad it forced me to use my own creativity to embelish my page.

4 Years Old!

This is a picture of my little boy at his 4th birthday party. He wanted an American themed party and we had it on the 4th of July. (his birthday is June 30) I used reds and blues to go with the whole American theme. The big "4" and the word "four" are chipboard and I sponged them with real red ink. I doodled with my SU marker around each one in Night of Navy. The star is just cut out of real red cardstock. I used my night of navy ink pad to paint around the edges of the Sahara Sand base. I used a sketch from Pencillines.com to complete this.

Sleepover

I used the Creative Liscense Simply Scrappin kit from SU! for this page. Can you tell I am into these kits lately??? haha They make it so easy to put pages together. I also used my Headline Alphabet set to do the title. I stamped it on whisper white paper in pumkin pie classic ink. I used my gel pen to doodle a little around the corners of each letter. Then I cut them out. The "S" is traced from the negative chipboard leftover and used pop dots to give it dimention.

The photos are of my son having a sleep over at his Nonno and Nonna's(grandpa and grandma). He had so much fun and my MIL took lots of pictures.

Tinkerbella

This card is being sent off to my sister for her 32nd birthday. She insists that she is still 24 so I thought this card would be perfect for her. It has a very young and playful look. The card base is Regal Rose, the patterned paper is Basic Grey and that is mounted on Wild Wasabi I stamped Tinkerbella on whisper white paper and colored her with my SU markers. I doodled around the edge with black and mounted it on Pretty in Pink cardstock. Threw a little ribbon on there and viola! There are also lots of sparkles but they didn't show up well in the picture.

Happy "24th" birthday sis!

First Day of School

My little boy started his first year of school this past month and it was so exciting. He couldn't wait to go and that made it a really great experience for him...and me! I used the SU! Primary Colors Simply Scrappin kit to make these pages. I added a few embellishments like eyelets and brads but the rest is all from the kit.
On this page I used some chipbaord arrows from American Crafts and some jumbo eyelets from SU! I used my crop-a-dile to set them. I LOVE that thing! I stopped using eyelets for so long because I didn't want use the hammer and wake up my kids! Now they are so easy to add to my pages and cards.
This page was inspired by sketch challenge SBSC105 on Splitcoast Stampers. I used jumbo brads to for the circle and did faux stitching in between each one. I stamped "excitment" with Best Friend Alpha from SU! in Real red ink. Did I mention how much Ilove SU!'s Primary Colors Simply Scrappin kit? hehe
This is one of my favorite pictures from his first day of school. After he hung up his backpack he turned around and looked in his classroom with these big wide eyes. He had been looking foward to this day all summer and he was finally there. I titled it "Here Goes Nothin' " because that is the first thought that came to my head when i saw the look on his face. A little overwhelmed but excited to go in. He's been in school over a month now and he just loves it.
I used a chipboard "H" and "G" then covered it with paper from the SS kit. I tied some ribbon on them to dress them up a bit. I stamped the rest of the letters with SU!'s Headline Alpha and REal red ink. Each page base is SU textured paper which I just LOVE!! That is all for now, thanks for looking!

New cards

This card was inspired by a sketch I got from Lauren Meaders blog. I visit her blog at least once a day! Her stuff is so awesome! I used Wild Wasabi textured paper as the base and patterned Christmas paper that I found in Michaels. I stamped the snowflakes with white craft ink and used my SU! makers to color the gift stamp so it would be two different colors. The sentement is stamped in Real Red ink. It was a simple card to put together but I think it turned out pretty good:)

This is another Christmas card I made using Wild Wasabi. I am really lovin' this color! I just got the "Season of Joy" set out of the holiday mini and so far I LOVE it! I used the bigest stamp with the writing on it as a background. It was easy to line up and I love the way it came out. I stamped the flower in Real Red, cut it out and mounted it on a real red scallop circle. I punched holes in the scallop circle and mounted that onto a Wild Wasabi scallop circle. I kind of like scallop circles...can you tell? hehe I added a brad and a little ribbon and that was it. So that's it for today:) I have a couple cards I will be posting tomorrow so come check them out!
