No Embellishments!

I participated in Virtual Scrapbook Night on SCS the other afternoon. This challenge was to make a page using paper, ink and stamps-no embellishments! This was a tough one because I love embellishments. I used my punches to create the flowers from patterned paper and stamped a stamp from my Priceless set along the top. I did alot of layering and used pop dots as well. Then I doodled around the photos with my white gel pen and around the page with my SU marker. I used my SU corner punch and placed them on each corner of the page and on the photos as well. I am acually very happy with this page and I am glad it forced me to use my own creativity to embelish my page.

4 Years Old!

This is a picture of my little boy at his 4th birthday party. He wanted an American themed party and we had it on the 4th of July. (his birthday is June 30) I used reds and blues to go with the whole American theme. The big "4" and the word "four" are chipboard and I sponged them with real red ink. I doodled with my SU marker around each one in Night of Navy. The star is just cut out of real red cardstock. I used my night of navy ink pad to paint around the edges of the Sahara Sand base. I used a sketch from Pencillines.com to complete this.

Sleepover

I used the Creative Liscense Simply Scrappin kit from SU! for this page. Can you tell I am into these kits lately??? haha They make it so easy to put pages together. I also used my Headline Alphabet set to do the title. I stamped it on whisper white paper in pumkin pie classic ink. I used my gel pen to doodle a little around the corners of each letter. Then I cut them out. The "S" is traced from the negative chipboard leftover and used pop dots to give it dimention.

The photos are of my son having a sleep over at his Nonno and Nonna's(grandpa and grandma). He had so much fun and my MIL took lots of pictures.

Here are some of the cards I designed using SU!'s Winter Bright Simply Scrappin kit. This kit is a great way to get alot of cards done quickly and easily. I will be designing 30 different cards for the class. I am excited and think it will be alot of fun!

Tinkerbella

This card is being sent off to my sister for her 32nd birthday. She insists that she is still 24 so I thought this card would be perfect for her. It has a very young and playful look. The card base is Regal Rose, the patterned paper is Basic Grey and that is mounted on Wild Wasabi I stamped Tinkerbella on whisper white paper and colored her with my SU markers. I doodled around the edge with black and mounted it on Pretty in Pink cardstock. Threw a little ribbon on there and viola! There are also lots of sparkles but they didn't show up well in the picture.

Happy "24th" birthday sis!

First Day of School

My little boy started his first year of school this past month and it was so exciting. He couldn't wait to go and that made it a really great experience for him...and me! I used the SU! Primary Colors Simply Scrappin kit to make these pages. I added a few embellishments like eyelets and brads but the rest is all from the kit.
On this page I used some chipbaord arrows from American Crafts and some jumbo eyelets from SU! I used my crop-a-dile to set them. I LOVE that thing! I stopped using eyelets for so long because I didn't want use the hammer and wake up my kids! Now they are so easy to add to my pages and cards.
This page was inspired by sketch challenge SBSC105 on Splitcoast Stampers. I used jumbo brads to for the circle and did faux stitching in between each one. I stamped "excitment" with Best Friend Alpha from SU! in Real red ink. Did I mention how much Ilove SU!'s Primary Colors Simply Scrappin kit? hehe
This is one of my favorite pictures from his first day of school. After he hung up his backpack he turned around and looked in his classroom with these big wide eyes. He had been looking foward to this day all summer and he was finally there. I titled it "Here Goes Nothin' " because that is the first thought that came to my head when i saw the look on his face. A little overwhelmed but excited to go in. He's been in school over a month now and he just loves it.
I used a chipboard "H" and "G" then covered it with paper from the SS kit. I tied some ribbon on them to dress them up a bit. I stamped the rest of the letters with SU!'s Headline Alpha and REal red ink. Each page base is SU textured paper which I just LOVE!! That is all for now, thanks for looking!

New cards

This card was inspired by a sketch I got from Lauren Meaders blog. I visit her blog at least once a day! Her stuff is so awesome! I used Wild Wasabi textured paper as the base and patterned Christmas paper that I found in Michaels. I stamped the snowflakes with white craft ink and used my SU! makers to color the gift stamp so it would be two different colors. The sentement is stamped in Real Red ink. It was a simple card to put together but I think it turned out pretty good:)

This is another Christmas card I made using Wild Wasabi. I am really lovin' this color! I just got the "Season of Joy" set out of the holiday mini and so far I LOVE it! I used the bigest stamp with the writing on it as a background. It was easy to line up and I love the way it came out. I stamped the flower in Real Red, cut it out and mounted it on a real red scallop circle. I punched holes in the scallop circle and mounted that onto a Wild Wasabi scallop circle. I kind of like scallop circles...can you tell? hehe I added a brad and a little ribbon and that was it. So that's it for today:) I have a couple cards I will be posting tomorrow so come check them out!

Kid free day and $1 Albums

Today was a good day:) My husband took the kids over to my inlaws around 2:30 and gave me the rest of the day to work on my crafts for the craft fair. It was so nice to have the house all to myself! A friend of mine came over for a couple hours to work on some things too. I did get a good amount of stuff done so I am very happy about that.

I found these little albums in the Target dollar spot. I figured I could try to cover them and turn them into cute little albums to sell at the craft fair. I used my DCWV Nana's Kids paper to cover them and I am pretty happy with the end result. They were pretty easy to do so I will be making 4 more.

I'm back!

Well, I am going to try and give this blog thing another try! I love reading everyone else's but I always seem to think mine would not be anywhere near as interesting. I am going to try anyway! :)
I have been working on alot of new things. I have a craft fair coming up in about a week so I have been trying to get stuff done for that. I am splitting the table with a few other woman. We are all adding something different to the table so our name is "Hodgepodge Moms." The name caught the attention of a local news program call Cecil's World and we are going to be interviewed this Monday! I am really excited about that. Here are a few cards I have been working on.

I made this card using a pumpkin pie base (5x5) and used the designer series paper Creepy Crawly. I cut out a black arrow and doodled around it for a little extra detail. I also did faux stitching around the "BOO" to make it stand out more.

This card it a basic black base and I stamped the stars in Whisper White craft ink. I stamped the cat image (Haunting Halloween) in basic black on whit cardstock. I used my watercolor pencils and a blender pen to color it in. I punched out 2 scallop circles and layered them together. I used a strip og Creep crawly paper at the bottom.

I am really loving this stamp set and desighner paper! Can you tell?

I made this jar with my new fav paper as well! I decorated it with some stamping and ribbon. I am making 6 of these, 3 will be halloween and 3 will be Christmas. I might get some more. I got them at Michaels for 2.49! They would be great for holding candy or even a candle.

So that is some of the stuff I have been working on. My husband is taking the kids out for the day on Saturday so I can really work on some things for the fair. It will be so nice to have some uninterupted work time during normal hours, not 1am! Thanks for checking out my blog:)

Name frame

I finally decided to try a name frame. I made one for my Mom for Mothers Day. She is into sewing and has her own sewing room so I decided to make one that said "Grandma's Sewing Room". It was pretty easy to make and I am very happy with the end result. I sent it off to her just in time for Mothers Day and she really liked it! Here is a picture of it.

I used this really pretty paper by Heidi Grace and cut it into squares. I wanted to give the look of a quilt. Around each letter I did some faux stitching. I also did faux stitching around the little box that says "sewing room." I used my SU! set "Looks Like Spring" and the matching punch for the little flowers.
I also recently just got a scallop circle punch! I have wanted one so bad but every place I looked was sold out of them. Finally Joanns.com got them in and I got it 50% off! Woohoo! I am LOVING it!
I have some big news, well big news in my house, hehehe! My little Annabella is starting to potty train! She is doing so well. I am pretty much only putting her in diapers for naps, bedtime and while we are out. She still has accidents so I don't want to be out when she has one! I can't believe how big she is getting. She turned 2 on April 22 and since then has moved into a bed and is now potty training. She is such a big girl! So thats about it! Not much exciting going on in my life! I feel better now that I updated my blog:)

Not very good at this!

Well, I have not been very good about keeping up with my blog, but I am going to try to be better. I have been really into making cards lately-mostly because I have been inspired by so many talented stampers from SCS. I want to stamp all the time but my family gets int he way of that! Just kidding, I love my family. I try to do my stamping in the afternoon(during naps) and in the evening after the kids go to bed. But some nights I am so tired from the day I end up plopping down on the couch and not moving! hehehe So anyway I will post a couple of my cards that I have recently done.

I made this card using my new Doodle This set from Stampin up! I really love this set. I tried to keep it simple because the images are so detailed and I and I didn't want to take away from that. So I used a white base and water colored using my SU aqua painter and classic ink pads. I used Tempting turquoise, Certainly celery and Barely Banana. I also used a sentiment from a SU! hostess set, which name escapes me at the moment!
I made this card for my son's birthday invitaion. He LOVES the movie Cars. I used a grey base and used my cuttlebug embossing flolder on the real red paper. I stamped the image and used my SU water color pencils along with a belnder to color in the image. I doodled a little around the edge to give a little extra. I am pretty happy with this. Luckily I only have a fe to make because it took a while!
So thats it! I have made more but didn't take pictures and already sent them off! I will try to be better about updating my blog!

Late night stampin'!

Last night after I FINALLY got my kids in bed (my little girl decided to stay up till almost 11pm!) I got some stamping done. I ordered the Wild About You set about a month ago thinking I would use it all the time. So when I got it, I mounted it right away and couldn't wait for the kids to get in bed so I could play with it. I ended up making one card with it! I could NOT get creative with this set. So I took it out last night determined to make some cards with it and I did! Here they are:

I also made a card with my Polk a Dots and Paisley set. This is another one i have been creatively challenged with! I am really happy with this one:

While I am posting pictures, I decided to post some of the little baskets I made for my MOMS Club Spring Fling Easter celebration. I completely cased these from other ones I saw on SCS!

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed! Have a wonderful Easter!

I finally did it!

I am not sure how interesting my blog will be, but I decided to start one. I love to scrap and make cards! However, it seems lately all I want to do is scrap and have strayed away from card making. Then I see beautiful creations on SCS and other blogs and it inspires me to get back into it. So I have been trying to be more creative when it comes to my cards-think outside of the box. I started with my DD's 2nd birthday invitations. I used my Tinkerbella stamp and my new cuttlebug embossing folder. I am acually very happy with the end result. I was inspired by Kimreid_stamper on SCS http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=517055&cat=500&ppuser=38585. !

I guess that is all for now. I am hoping to get some stamping done during naps today but I should clean my house. We'll see, maybe I can do both!
